Decarbonization
Service Description
The process of reducing or eliminating carbon emissions from a particular process or sector of the economy. Decarbonization might involve changes in technology, behavior, or policy, with the ultimate goal being to reduce carbon emissions and take the necessary steps to limit global warming. Retrofitting solutions, new technologies & adoption of standards & indices are some of the paths to decarbonization in this maritime industry. BWE offers design & advisory services enhancing Energy Efficiency of the vessel through Ship Design Optimization, aligned with latest IMO key regulations. The Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) is a regulatory measure introduced by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), coming into effect in 2023. This mandatory requirement ensures that all vessels comply with the IMO’s energy efficiency standards. Also can contribute on further transport efficiency of vessels making annual calculations and necessary adjustments of CII Carbon Intensity Indicator, also forecasting / proposing improvements for possible compliance with following years. Enhancing energy efficiency and lowering carbon intensity not only benefit the environment but also offer significant operational cost savings while contributing to a more sustainable maritime sector.
